Registered Authenticity & Provenance
Each limited-edition canvas is recorded in the Ilana McBain Registry of Authenticity & Provenance and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity identifying the artwork and its individual edition number.
The registry maintains a private record of provenance throughout the life of the work. If ownership changes in the future, the new collector can be registered with the Studio and an updated record of provenance issued.

Beyond the Break
I’ve always loved that moment when surfers paddle beyond the breaking waves and everything suddenly becomes quieter.
From the shore, surfing can look fast and energetic, but out beyond the break there is another side to it — people floating, waiting, watching the ocean and finding their own space within it. That contrast is what interested me.
I painted the surfers from above because I loved the shapes they created against the blue water. Each board has its own colour, each person seems to have their own little world, yet they are all connected by the same ocean.
For me, Beyond the Break is really about freedom — that feeling of leaving the noise behind for a while, moving past the turbulence and finding the calmer water on the other side.
