Wave Kids — Contemporary Surf Art Print

Wave Kids is about that familiar pause before going back into the water — boards under arms, people coming and going, everyone watching the conditions and waiting for their moment.

What interested me was the mixture of stillness and anticipation. The figures are simplified, almost reduced to shapes, while the large areas of blue, the bright sun and the surfboards carry the energy of the scene.

I like that it feels relaxed without being quiet. There is movement coming, even though everyone is standing still.
