Crimson Perspective – Contemporary Coastal Portrait Art

I’ve always been fascinated by perspective — how two people can look at exactly the same situation and see something completely different.

In Crimson Perspective, the water represents life. It moves, changes direction, interrupts us and sometimes hits us when we least expect it. We can try to control it, but ultimately we have to learn how to move with it.

The woman remains still while the water flows across her face. For me, that contrast is important. The world around her is moving, but how she sees it is entirely her own.

The red glasses became a symbol of that. We all look at life through our own lens, shaped by our experiences, expectations and beliefs. Change the lens and the same situation can suddenly look completely different.

I think life is a little like water. We can’t stop its flow. But we can change the way we see where it is taking us.
