1. Welcome and Introduction

Duration: 10 minutes

  • Greeting and Purpose:
    • Welcome participants and thank them for attending.
    • Introduce the theme: using vibrant fruits as inspiration to create playful, colorful, and dynamic artwork.
    • Highlight the goal: to explore color theory, composition, and texture while painting fruit-themed art that showcases personal style.
  • Briefly explain what participants will create: a series of small fruit paintings or one large composition featuring their favorite fruits.

2. Icebreaker Activity: "Fruity Connections"

Duration: 15 minutes

  • Activity: "Your Fruit Personality"
    • Ask participants to think of a fruit that best represents their personality (e.g., a bright and zesty orange, a soft and sweet peach).
    • Share their chosen fruit and explain why it resonates with them.
  • Purpose: Break the ice and spark creative inspiration by connecting personality traits to fruit symbolism.

3. Guided Exploration: Understanding the Subject (Fruits)

Duration: 20 minutes

  • Provide participants with a display of real or printed fruits (e.g., apples, oranges, lemons, berries, bananas).
  • Discuss:
    • Shapes: How to simplify fruit forms into basic shapes for sketching.
    • Colors: Observing natural hues and variations (e.g., light, shadows, highlights).

5. Creative Session: Painting the Fruity Collection

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

  • Step 1: Choose one of two options:
    • Option 1: Create a series of 3-5 small fruit paintings (each focusing on one type of fruit).
    • Option 2: Design one large composition featuring a variety of fruits.
  • Step 2: Sketch the fruits onto the canvas or paper.
  • Step 3: Paint! Add layers of color, texture, and detail.
    • Encourage participants to use their creativity—play with abstract styles, bold outlines, or soft realism.
  • Facilitators provide guidance, tips, and encouragement throughout the process.

6. Reflection and Sharing

Duration: 20 minutes

  • Display all completed or in-progress works for a gallery-style showcase.
  • Invite participants to share:
    • Their favorite part of their painting.
    • The challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
    • How the process made them feel creatively.

7. Closing and Takeaways

Duration: 10 minutes

  • Recap the workshop and celebrate everyone’s artistic accomplishments.
  • Provide tips on:
    • Sealing and preserving their artwork.
    • Continuing to practice painting with everyday inspirations.
  • Thank participants for attending and offer future workshop recommendations.
