I wanted the sardines to feel graphic and playful rather than literal, almost like something you might see on a vintage menu, a beach club sign or a ceramic plate picked up somewhere along the coast. The stripes give it that sense of summer and rhythm, while the red fish keep it bold and full of personality.

It is really about that Mediterranean way of making everyday things feel beautiful. A simple meal, a striped tablecloth, a row of sardines — nothing complicated, but somehow full of life.

That is what I wanted this piece to bring into a room: colour, warmth and that relaxed feeling of being somewhere by the sea.
