Cats are part of our family, and I think one of the things I love most about them is how completely individual they are. The Observer reminds me of the cat who notices everything. Quiet, watchful, slightly suspicious, always taking in the room before deciding whether you are worthy of attention. There is something very human in that independence, and I wanted to capture that calm intelligence.

PRINT DETAILS

Each open edition print is professionally produced on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine art paper, chosen for its smooth surface and ability to reproduce colour and detail beautifully.

A 12-colour fine art printing process captures the depth, tonal variation and strong colour that are central to Ilana McBain’s work. The acid-free, FSC-certified paper and fade-resistant inks are selected for lasting quality.
